How to use Palen day to day
Start with the information you have. Palen helps you identify the relevant rules and what needs clarifying.
Describe the waste and the transport
Give its origin, known composition, physical state and quantity. Add the planned container and destination, and note anything you do not yet know.
Choose the help you need
The ADR consultant answers your questions about packaging and regulations. To check a shipment, the auditor guides you using a UN number or an SDS that reflects the waste concerned.
Prepare the next steps
Read the references, identify what needs confirming and discuss it with your customer, carrier or dangerous goods safety adviser before dispatch.
Check answers against their sources
Every waste has its own characteristics. Read the cited references, check that they fit your situation and have any outstanding points confirmed by those responsible for the operation.
Your questions about preparing waste
Can Palen help me choose packaging for a customer’s waste?
Yes. Describe the known waste characteristics and transport conditions. The consultant helps you find the packing requirements and compatibility checks to consider. The container choice must then be confirmed for the waste concerned.
Does hazardous waste always fall under ADR?
No. Waste hazardousness and transport classification follow different rules. A waste code alone is not enough: the waste’s properties and transport conditions must also be assessed.
Can Palen confirm whether my facility can accept a particular type of waste?
No. Acceptance conditions depend on your facility and the waste concerned. ADR assistance helps prepare transport. It does not replace your admission criteria, analyses or pre-acceptance procedure, including an acceptance certificate where required.
Is a French waste tracking form (BSD) enough as an ADR transport document?
It can be sufficient if it contains every entry required for the shipment concerned. Otherwise, an additional document is needed. Palen helps you find the entries to check; waste tracking forms and traceability remain managed in Trackdéchets where its use is required.
